Nic Marchant is a photographer i admire and have always liked his more moody darker shots .So when he advertised a cancellation at short notice for one of his workshops i grabbed the opportunity to meet him and see his working studio.
I am very glad i did ,it may only have been a few hours and limited time each to work with the model but i finally had the space to experiment with lighting from distances using polyboards,bookends and bouncing the light.
The shots i took were with a narrative in mind to create a story,atmosphere and emotion.
We then moved onto creating the right lighting and the patience and reviewing needed to create just the right light from above to show off the models figure by getting the lighting just right across the curves of the body.
The final session was art nude, i chose to create more of a human form study as i felt the model had just the right look and form to create a piece of simple art.
